Peter's Flatty

A bike with much surprises is this Flathead of Peter. At the first instance it looks like a pretty stock classic with a pair of Shovelhead wheels. But when Peter starst to tell everything about this old Harley-Davidson, it turn's out to be a high-light of custombike building! All the wirk is hidden inside the old Flathead engine, which is made completely up to date, with features like a modern belt drive. Pulleys, bearings, sprockets, bolts, nuts, covers etcetera, it's all made by this craftsman. And much work is done on a self made (!!!) CNC milling machine. Just... WOW! Thanks for the nice day Peter!

45 Flathead Service

Today I went to 45 Flathead Service in The Hague. The shop is runned by Peter Buchly. They repair, maintain and create classic (custom) bikes. Flatties, Knuckles, Panheads... you name it. At least it's not an Evolution (or newer). They even got a few Harley XA boxers, of which one (a rare type with disc wheels) is nearly 100% original. And the guys also are building exotic engines: flathead cases with Matchless cylinders and heads!

Peter created his own Flathead bobber and we made some funny shots of it. Great day, great weather, great people, great bikes. Thanks!!Link

Greasy & Ink

This green old skool shovelhead is one of my favourite old style bikes since I've seen it at the Bigtwin Bikeshow in Rosmalen in 2009. The green paint -done by El Cheapo- even was inspiration for my 1Off Honda racer. Finally! Today we've done a photoshoot of this bike in an old shed. Rinus has another cool bike too, a rusty Flathead. A double shoot, double cool!! As back-drop we used his rat-rod. Thanks Rinus!!!!

Motorcycle Recue

Visited Motorcycle Rescue today. These guys have passion for old Harleys exclusively! U models, Liberators and everything up to the Panhead and early Shovel is their speciality. Coincidently at the moment they were frshing-up the engine of Thunderbike's Build-A-Billy bobber. That bike is a beauty, I can tell you!!

Tomorrow is the big day! You'll find me at the Bigtwin Bikeshow in the photo-studio! See you there :-)
