How is it hanging?
The Own Skool got a little make over this winter, as it was supplied with another head-light and sand-blasted aluminium wheels. However I wanted the bike to be multi-colored those days, I now go for a more back-to-basic look. The bike once was build to approach the English survival-style of bike building, so Royal Jack offered to put some matt-black color on my tins for a Mad-Max look... but with a little twist. :-) To be continued...

Christmas @ Van Den Berg Engineering, Arnhem
We're there today, busy with bringing project 1OFF to a good end! My mate Niek is a great welder and so he's making an exhaust and swing-arm, exactly how I like it! He says: "So you want Spaghetti? You got Spaghetti!!" Pipes are inspired by the English style of bikebuilding. The swing-arm is race/streetfighter style. A lot of alloy parts are sand-blasted too, today. Is this going to be wild or WILD?

Mock-up of project 1OFF
This weekend we taped, knotted, chewing-gum'd and tied all the crap together for a mock-up photo of project 1OFF. Few things have to be done: milling a sidemount numberplate bracket, shaping a holder for the speedo and we want some brace between the front forks... Then we fill it up with gas and ride the hell out of it!!
Isn't this the coolest bike on the planet? :-)

Orange Velthuis Choppers
It looks like a television show in our little Garage. Hammering, welding, milling and shouting is what we do. Bennie did a lot of work lately with alloy and he made a nice top-yoke and foot-controls. Together we made a pair of hand grips too... Orange Velthuis Choppers. Where's the tv-crew?
An old window's frame...

Me, doing some mysterious things with the lathe...

Et voila!

Did some cool strobe-shots of Bennie for Bigtwin magazine

It's looking like it!

Alloy foot controls. Bennie is an artist, y'know?

New Bigtwin magazine
I prefer choppers and custombikes with a unique and own style and there are every year a handfull of bikes which are so full of inspiration, craftmanship and designing that they stay hanging around in my mind for months. The Nozem GSXR 1100 is one of these, but the Belgian WILSON II is another highlight of 2009’s ‘Floris Approved’ bikes. The photoshoot was at a great location: a desolate Vlamish cole-mine and good thing was that the owner who listens to the name ‘De Bach’, was so patience that he let me do things with studiolight on location. We did some sunlight photo’s and riding shots too.
And guess what? WILSON II is at the cover of the new Bigtwin magazine!!

...this one is with 2 studiolights and shoot-shru brelly's

woe-hoe!!!!
Next saturday the new Bigtwin magazine will drop in the mail-box... It's a good one (and not only because there's lots of stuff from me in it!) More about the new Bigtwin magazine at http://www.bigtwin.nl/

Guess who did the cover photo? Playing around with all those heavy lights and batteries finally starts having result :-)

Part 1 of my project 1Off, a 'how-to' about the paintwork by KustomBart. Cool or cool?! As I speak, he's working on a new paint-cabin, by the way...

The Ultima 'El Bruto' by Motley Choppers. The've got a new website!

Eelco's 14 Cycles TwinCam (can't wait to see the whole feature as there were plenty of dead-cool photo's of that photoshoot... The location was excellent!)

Danny's Savage, also shot with studio lights

The Belgian xs400 rat rod chopper, the action shot looks cool, huh?
And, of course, the Triumph Young Skool, made by the 18 year young El Renne!!!!

Paintwork 1off part III
KustomBart did the grey paintjob last week, so today it was time for some gold leaf! Next week he will finish the paintwork with some transparant laquer and outlines around the gold leaf.
Hmmm.... It's getting there, isn't it? So, some outlines will be done next week and some transparant laquer will make it look D.E.E.P. I can tell you! :-)
KustomBart busy with taping the places for the glue
Yep, there will be a gold leaf logo on my tank! 1Off, what means sometheing like one of a kind or unique
Here's the magic going on!
Gold leaf from sheets. It only stays at the glue'd places
Et voila!

Own Skool in 100% Biker magazine
My stubborn OWN SKOOL project is featured in the new 100% biker magazine. Cool!!!
Photo is made with two pocket-flashers + brelly's, off-shoe'd with PW's and a shutter-time of about 4 seconds to get some background-light.
