Complxx

Hans and Lena run the fight-school Complxx and tattooshop Complexx and they planned a motorcycle tour on 10 juli 2011 for the WSPA (Animal Rescue). Hans is a very skilled tattoo artist and free-fight trainer for years. Lena is European champion MMA (Mixed Martial Art). Shooting the action pics was great fun! Thanks for the hospitality, Hans & Lena!

Joris' Honda chopper

I spotted this bike on several messageboards and I really liked it. Coincidently I came in contact with the owner via editor of Bigtwin magazine. Joris from Belgium made this super-cool Honda CB chopper - on a low budget - together with his brother. A close friend happened to be a creative guy and he did the paintwork... His second paint-job ever! Can you believe this is the first serious project of these three guys? Even the gooseneck frame is a 100% one-off piece of art. This bike is beautiful, period!

Electra @ HD Hutten

Went to HD Hutten today, these very friendly and gifted guys have build a nostalgic looking Electra Glide, based on a Dyna with a rubber-mounted HD Evo. Old style looks with modern comfort! What more do we wish? It was really cold and grey (is it summer yet?), but the photo's look really nice, though!

Bigtwin

Some cool bike-features in the next Bigtwin! The Pathfinders (Jurgen & Nico from Belgium) are featured with their super-cool basement-build Evo Sportster choppers. And then we have Edwin with his raw styled Mad Max Shovelhead hardtail. The shots of this satin black Harley look pretty good! Also great shots are those of the Lime Green xs650 of Jeroen. Fresh! Last but not least we’ve shot the little DKW bobber of the Belgian artist Glenn. Pure F*cking Rock & Roll!!

Necromancer

Booked the tickets to Sweden, we planned a trip to the Norrtälje custombike show with Niels, who's brilliant Necromancer Triumph chopper is just featured in DicE.

Baroness' BSA

Chase the lightning! Artist Antoine Stemerding made this super nice rigid BSA old skool chopper. We shot it indoors and it came out pretty awesome!

It was a low-light situation and so I used 4 speedlights to light up the whole bike: one with umbrella in front, 2 with a little softbox at both sides (rims) and one bare flasher to aim at under-exposed details.














A try out of a cool little trick I read about in one of the strobist books on my book-shelve (it was a long winter again). CTO-gelled all the four speedlights (orange) and then adapted the white balance on the camera. So, the bike keeps its colour, but the background turns... blue! Gettit? At the spot I wasn't sure if I liked it, but it came out the camera really cool!!

Lucky Rikkie's fighter

Finally some spare time to edit a few hundred pics of 12 bikes that we shot for the calender shoot of XtremeBikez in just one cold December day! Per bike we had just a few minutes so we had to manage things very quickly. All shots were done with one flasher which was softened with a umbrella and two flashers with a little softbox on them.

This is a nice one: the Suzuki streetfighter of Lucky Rikkie. The pretty model is named Donna. The shot looks very fashion-ish, don't you think? I'll post some more cool bikes soon!
